Vayu Hide Payment Methods: setup guide
Works automatically at checkout. No theme setup is needed.
1. Install and open the app
- Install the app from the Shopify App Store and approve the permissions.
- Open it from Apps in your Shopify admin.
2. Add rules
- Check the payment method names your checkout shows under Settings → Payments. On a development store, add Manual payment methods → Cash on Delivery (COD) to try the templates.
- On Payment rules, click Add rule or start from a template such as Hide Cash on Delivery above an amount.
- Choose the action (hide, rename or move), the payment method names (a name that contains the text, or is exactly it) and the conditions. All conditions must match.
- Pause or delete a rule at any time. Each rule also shows under Settings → Payments → Payment customizations.
| Condition | Plan |
|---|---|
| Cart subtotal above or below an amount | Free and Pro |
| Shipping country is or is not one of a list | Free and Pro |
| Customer has, or does not have, a tag | Pro |
| Guest checkout or logged-in customer | Pro |
| Cart has a product with a tag or from a collection | Pro |
| Total cart weight above a limit | Pro |
| Chosen delivery method name contains text | Pro |
Free runs 1 active rule. Pro runs as many as Shopify allows: 25 active payment customizations per store, counting every app.
3. Test
- On Test a checkout, enter the payment method names, a subtotal, country and other details to see which methods would be hidden, renamed or moved, and why a rule does nothing.
- Or use the template Hide Cash on Delivery above an amount (500), add a product over 500 (for example The Complete Snowboard) to the cart and go to checkout: Cash on Delivery is not offered. Below 500 it is.
Rules run at checkout only, not in the cart. A rule never hides every payment method: if it would, it hides none.
